Quick Fix Facials Exfoliating Scrub Mask Review

I recently spotted this ehilst having a snoop around TK Maxx and thought I would give it a go, the name 'Quick Fix Facials' is what caught my attention and originally drew me in.

The packaging: I much prefer masks that come in easy squeezable tubes than the ones that come in packets as I find even with my ridiculously large round head a lot of product is wasted and in general it is just easier to get out. Although I am not the greatest fan of the orange and purple colour scheme, I do not care that much as I am more concerned with the results of a mask rather than the pretty packaging it may come in.

The texture: As its extremely exfoliating the beads are quite large and some may find abrasive, but saying that I have extremely sensitive skin and it didn't even leave me all red faced and extremely sexy looking as masks often do. It kind of reminds me of cold porridge with bits in it, perhaps not an ideal image for something you want to slap all around your face, but hey,why not?

The smell: Perhaps smell is an odd thing to mention, but for me I am what you may call a sniff-aholic I have an extremely strong sense of smell and the smell of this product is not something I am a fan of, it kind of reminds me of old ladies, although not an unbearable completely foul smell, its arguably not a pleasant one either. I think the smell is down to the

The application: It says to apply to damp skin and leave for five to ten minutes. I apply it before going in the shower and then rinse off in there because that's jut what I find easier. It says to massage into problem areas, for me these are my nose and cheeks and then I rinse my face under the shower as I usually would in order to get rid of the remaining product. The overall application and removal of this product really could not be simpler.

Overall: I was really chuffed with the fast results of this cheap and cheerful product and will definitely be picking it up from Boot's from now on and I am dying to try their anti-blesh mud mask next.  It rapidly decreased the size of my visible pores and the black heads that were on my nose are now gone after just two uses, I think this is due to the glycolic acid as I have seen it mentioned in various other products of similar ideas. You get a lot of product for the RRP of £4.99 which is always a bonus, who doesn't love more bang for their buck?

Goodbye Dry

I suffer from extremely dry skin and my skin is also mega sensitive so I have to be careful with what I use to tackle this. So in today's post I will be sharing my guide to living a flake free life.

Step one: Hands, nobody wants to be caught red handed or should I say dry handed in this case, for years I have been using the Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream, I also love Soap and Glory Hand Food, but I find this one dries much quicker and keeps my hands smooth for longer. It contains macadamia nut oil which is key for soothing dry skin.

Step two: Face, there is nothing worse than a dry face, my face is often dry from various spot tackling treatments which can often leave the face sore and drier than a desert. So I find Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser is enough to leave the skin hydrated and smooth for make up without making you mega shiny and looking more oiled up than Kim K in her 'break the internet' pictures. Also as simple products are so 'simple' it doesn't irritate my sensitive spot prone skin; win win situation right here.

Step three: Body, when jumping out of the shower I want a fuss free moisturiser that will keep my skin moisturised, but will not feel greasy and will not take decades to dry. I have found the holy grail of affordable effective moisturisers- Vaseline Intesive Care Essential Lotion. It also has no funky fragranced ingredients that can often irritate my skin.

Step four: Feet, brace yourself sandal seasoning is coming and nobody wants to be caught slipping with their crusty dry back foot. Soap and Glory Heel Genius is a one stop solution to all your dry foot needs. Although I am not overly keen on the smell, I can learn to live with it, as its not as if you sniff your feet and I'd rather have nice soft feet that smell slightly odd than dry ones.

Step five:  Lips- last, but at no means least I cannot bare the feel of dry lips and nothing is more effective that good old Vaseline in my opinion. My favourite is this Cocoa Butter one, you can kiss goodbye to dry lips.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Despite the lack of posts I am still alive, although I would rather not be due to the large amount of A level revision I have been doing, hence why I've been pretty poo on the blogging front.
I just NEEDED to express my love for this foundation, although I may seem extremely late on the whole blogging hype that once surrounded it I bought this a while ago and was extremely disappointed when the shade I had (100 Ivory) was far too dark despite being the lightest one I could find in store. Since the weather in England is surprisingly great right now I have had a spray tan to stop me from looking like death and this foundation is now a perfect match.

Packaging is pretty standard, I would say the colour matches the name very well.

Close-ups.

I like the fact this foundation has a pump, makes getting the right amoun
t hassle free.

As I mentioned I have been revising my life a way so I am tired 24/7 and when I am not revising I occasionally brace the outside world with my presence and I have found this foundation has prevented small children from screaming at the sight of me it gives a lovely natural looking 'glow' to the skin and the I would say is medium coverage, for me the staying power was great, but I have dry skin so I do not know how it would last on other skin types. With this foundation I would definitely say a little goes a long way, I use my beauty blender to apply as I do all my foundations. I would say it is a great spring summer foundation as it also contains SP15 and gives a healthy looking glow, I have seen many reviews where people have moaned about the shimmer, although I haven't noticed that- no looking like Edward from Twilight for me- what a shame (not). The worst thing about this foundation for me is the smell, in my opinion it smells absolutely awful; I have never seen anyone else complain about the smell though so perhaps just me being fussy.
For such a cheap foundation I cannot complain it makes the most tired of A level students look awake and that's enough to impress me, I think it was also on a 3 for 2 in Boot's as it regularly is when I picked up mine so was an absolute bargain.

Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser Review

The packaging is pretty standard, at the end of the day it is a face wash so it isn't meant to be aesthetically pleasing, I personally like the pump as it means I can apply the amount needed and there is little waste the durable packaging is also good for me because I use this when in the shower.

All that scientific sounding malarkey

I have been using this product for a while now and I can happily say has worked wonders.
Every night when in the shower I use this product by simply applying it to my damp face in circular motions then removing it using a damp Liz Earle deep cleansing mask sponge. Before I had visibly large pores around my nose, but now they are basically unnoticeable and my face also feels much cleaner. I have read many reviews where poeple have said they do not recommend it for people with dry skin, I personally have dry skin and cannot see why people would say so. I am also fortunate enough to have nice sensitive teenage skin that is prone to acne so I am often extremely precautions before smothering something new all over my face and thankfully this didn't cause me to break out and resemble a pizza like many cleansers have in the past. The charcoal it contains is supposedly what draws out the dirt, impurities and overall grossness from your skin and is apparently used in many Asian beauty products and we all know Asian skincare is the holy grail of all skincare so surely this must be good?
The consistency of the product is weird and hard to explain the grey gel with tiny  black bits (I assume are the charcoal) turns into a white foam like mask when massaged into the skin.
Although I usually much prefer a face wash that exfoliates this still left my skin feeling really clean and soft.
Kind of resembles some kind of alien goo (don't let that put you off)

For only £4.99 at Boots, I definitely say give it a go if you are on the look out for a cleanser that will banish those larger pores and leave your skin feeling cleaner than clean.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation Review

I recently picked this foundation after I became very intrigued when seeing it absolutely everywhere from blogs, YouTube and greeting me whenever I entered Boots or Superdrug I just assumed it would be rude not to cave; so that's what I did and I don't think I will ever look back.

(I personally love the packaging)

Mine's in Ivory 10 which I believe is the lightest shade, the undertone is more of a yellow which I usually avoid because my skin is more of a pink, but it is easily blended and leaves a nice soft silky finish very skin like natural looking and even coverage, it is definitely build-able to a medium coverage, It feels extremely light on the skin I suspect this is obviously due to the fact that it has a liquid like consistency and is apparently "12 times finer than Maybelline Dream Satin" which I did not personally like.

The dropper is solid and distributes just about the right amount (very technical sounding, I know) I applied it with my fingers which I was rather reluctant about to begin with, but most blogs I read  recommended doing and so did the instructions so I bit the bullet and did so and I can definitely see why as if by magic, it worked and left an even finish, I hate cleaning my beauty blender and brushes so this is definitely a winner for me. It apparently contains 'concentrated concealing pigments' and they're the secret behind the fact its basically the Harry Potter of the foundation world; great coverage without feeling cakey and is extremely natural looking- Hogwart's eat your heart out.

For the price this product is definitely worth try. Warning: You may possibly fall in love and become obsessed.

It has defintely quickly become my favourite foundation due to the fact I hate the feeling of foundation yet this feels like you're not wearing make up yet gives a great coverage and is a perfect everyday base. It's currently on offer at Superdrug and Boots so now is the perfect time if there ever was one to grab it!

Winter Pinks

Pink to make the boys wink, or not in my case unless they have something in their eye perhaps. I am sick to death of this winter weather already, get me to spring now; not that will change anything because I live in England so warm weather is a total myth. I thought what better way to help hurry along the blue skies I am dreaming of than adding a splash of colour to my outfits. I decided to go for pink. Despite the fact the majority of my outfit is still black I am trying to be colourful (I promise). I decided this pink gilet I picked up from Rokit whilst in Camden was the perfect way to experiment with colour whilst also preventing myself from freezing to death in this gross weather. My favourite way to add colour is on the lips and nails, I went with All Fired Up by MAC on the lips with Pink Lemonade (what an adorable shade name) by Seventeen on the nails. My outfit is extremely casual as I am just going into town with a friend.

Gilet-Rokit
Jeans- ASOS
Top-  H&M
Shoes- Primark
Rings- Topshop & H&M

Although its going to take more than some pink lipstick for nice weather to rapidly appear, at least I tried.

The Seven Deadly Sins Of Beauty

More of a chatty post today totally stolen from Gemma, but I love reading posts like this, so I thought I'd have a go at it,

Greed: What’s your most expensive beauty item?
I'm not really one for splashing out so probably my MAC foundation which I think was only around £25 I'm much more of a drug store make up kind of girl, I basically live in Superdrug.
Wrath: What item do you have a love/hate relationship with?
Bronzer, I cannot contour to save my life me and my fact round football like face need all the help we can get in the definition department, but I often find myself looking like I have attempted to go for the facial camouflage paint worn by the army, maybe its just not meant to be.
Gluttony: What brand takes up most of your collection?
Probably Rimmel I just find the products so reliable and consistently great value for the price, I have been slightly addicted since around the age of 12 when I basically collected Rimmel lipsticks.
Sloth: What product do you neglect the most due to laziness?
Primer! I am just far too lazy I shove enough crap on my face without the extra layer!
Pride: What product gives you the most confidence?
A bright bold lip: especially with an all black outfit I just feel mega bad ass like Beyonce. Sadly my dreams of looking like Beyonce soon come to an end as I seem to get lipstick absolutely everywhere from my teeth to my nose, attractive I think not.
Lust: Which item is top of your beauty wish list?
I am desperate to try something by Charlotte Tilbury, I don't mind what literally if that woman made toilet roll I'd probably want it because she is just such a make up legend, all hail Charlotte Tilbury!
Envy: Which make-up product/look is great on others but not on you?
Winged eye liner I have spent basically years trying to perfect it and it just never work- every liner I have tried just doesn't suit me in the slightest. On occasion I have ended up looking like a 13 year old going through a goth stage.

I love posts like this so if you answer these on your blog let me know so I can have a nosey!
